Privacy Policy

What LiveSlips collects, what it doesn't, and how to exercise your rights.

1. Data We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to operate the service.

Account data

• Username (chosen by you);
• Email address (if you sign up via email or Google OAuth);
• A hashed password (we never store passwords in plaintext);
• Tier & membership status;
• Referral code and the referral code (if any) used to invite you.

Usage data

• IP address at the time of signup (kept for abuse-prevention only; not exposed to other users);
• Page views, session duration, and bounce rate in aggregate;
• Per-video watch time and category preferences for content recommendations.

Payment data

If you upgrade to a paid tier, payment processing is handled by third-party processors (e.g. Square via our payment partner). LiveSlips never receives or stores your credit card number, CVV, or full billing details. We receive only a confirmation that payment for a given tier was completed.

2. Data We Do Not Collect

• Real legal names (unless you voluntarily provide one for a refund or legal matter);
• Government identification;
• Precise geolocation beyond country-level inference from IP;
• Webcam, microphone, or device-sensor data;
• Cross-site tracking identifiers we did not originate.

3. Cookies & Local Storage

LiveSlips uses a small set of cookies and browser local-storage entries that are strictly necessary for operating the site:

• Session cookie (HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax) for authentication;
• Preference storage for sort order, sound volume, and pinned categories;
• Service-worker cache for offline page support and faster repeat visits.

We do not use third-party advertising cookies or behavioral tracking cookies.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services in the operation of the site. Each has its own privacy policy:

• Cloudflare R2 — object storage for videos and thumbnails;
• Square (via our payment partner) — payment processing;
• Google OAuth — optional login provider (only the email + Google user ID are returned to us);
• Amazon SES — transactional email delivery (e.g. password reset).

5. Your Rights

Regardless of where you reside, you have the right to:

• Access the data we hold about you;
• Correct inaccurate data;
• Delete your account and associated data;
• Receive a copy of your data in a portable format;
• Object to processing of your data for any purpose beyond what is strictly necessary to provide the service.

Users in the EU, UK, California, and other jurisdictions with applicable privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.) are guaranteed these rights by statute. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@liveslips.xyz. We will respond within 30 days.

6. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time from your profile page. Account deletion removes your username, email, password hash, and per-account preferences from our database. Aggregated, de-identified usage data (e.g. anonymized view counts) may be retained indefinitely.

7. Data Retention

We retain data only as long as necessary to provide the service. Specific retention windows:

• Account data: until the account is deleted;
• Signup IP: 1 year, then automatically purged;
• Payment confirmation records: 7 years (US tax-record requirement).

8. Children

LiveSlips is strictly for adults 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we discover that an account belongs to a minor, the account and all associated data is deleted immediately.

9. Changes to This Policy

Material changes to this Policy will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above. Users with active accounts may also receive notice of substantive changes by in-site banner.
